The Quiet Before the Storm

It was a pretty social weekend for me and Chris which culminated yesterday in a dinner for our boat neighbors who have 2 4-year-old boys. Most of the day was kind of quiet—spent cooking and cleaning and doing Sunday type chores. In the late afternoon, the light on the boat felt very special. Even though we are wrapped in a bubble, sunlight still comes and warms the room. I wanted to share that moment with you though I am not sure this picture really captures it. And now imagine the same space with 4 adults and 2 very energetic kids. Actually it was a lot of fun, but still I was happy when peace was restored

  1. Dying to know how the basket of cars went over...especially those windowless ones.

    1. The cars were a big hit. The boys actually pointed out the windowless issue, but when they each picked a car to take home, one of them took one of those.

    2. Thanks for the response, Alice! Now that you and Chris have been left with a small collection of cars and trucks...how are you getting anything done? Loving the picture I get of the two of you on your rug playing cars together. BTW, that is not a sexual reference at all--just in case anyone would take it that way. I really mean playing cars.
