Another one in the books
Thanksgiving slowly morphed this year from a smallish gathering to 16 people. I thought for sure we'd sat that many people around our table before, but once we started trying to squeeze in chairs I realized that this might be a record for us. A few turkey sandwiches later, I'd say it was a pretty successful weekend.
My one regret was when I asked everyone to go around the table to say something they were thankful for. It was my idea to do this yet still I was unprepared. If I could do it over, I would have taken my sweet time and said one thing for every person because my heart was bursting and I had much to say. But for this post I am going to take a moment for Celia who dazzled me with her abundance. On Thanksgiving morning, Celia woke early to get an apple cider doughnut cake in the oven for everyone's breakfast.
Then went off to participate in the Roque Bluffs Turkey Trot.
Knit herself a sweater.
Baked a few pies and some dinner rolls. And then helped me with the last minute dinner to table crunch that defines every Thanksgiving dinner.
And thank you to Ian as well who was also a key player in the smooth operations.
You guys are a dynamic duo.
