Game of BTU
We've started using the reverse cycle heater, which is also our air conditioner, just on the HEAT setting. It works pretty well but will stop when the sea water temperature gets down to about 45 degrees, so I also hauled out the electric heaters from storage.
I have to schedule the boat wrap, which will cost about $1,400 probably. Should I do that, or try to do it myself for a cost of about $500? Big savings. But if I do it myself, will the wrap survive even the first storm?? hmmm...what are your thoughts?
We're thinking a lot about whether we can insulate the boat to save money on the heat bill.
This reflective insulation stuff is what many of the liveaboards put all through their boat, sometimes over the windows even! So its going to be a balance between cost and aesthetics, I think.

I vote for having the boat wrapped professionally. Also, function over beauty (almost every time). So I think you should insulate as much as possible, even if it isn't aesthetically pleasing. Alice can make things beautiful. She loves a challenge.
