Essential items

Today the TNT team had a discussion over what everyone considered the 4 most essential pots and pans they owned and then we were asked to vote to get the majority ruling. I piped up that we could skip the vote because as a boat dweller I had already gone through the decision making process as I only had room for 4 pots. Somehow that was not convincing enough...so a vote was still conducted. Democracy at work

  1. The first pot should be huge and useful for both cooking and peeing in. The second should be suitable for a plant because you'll never use it. The third pot should be good for a can of soup because we all live out our final years broke and alone. The fourth pot should be painted bright yellow or red because it will get lost 2 days after purchase and that might make finding it easier.

  2. Sorry, forgot about the pans. The first pan should be large enough to completely cover the burner. The 2nd should be slightly smaller than the burner and should be given to visitors to use . They will then be reprimanded for leaving it precariously positioned on the stove. The 3rd pan can either be insanely large or small. It's purchase is to make conversation. "I don't remember why I bought this pan! (it's SO big or SO small)" The fourth pan should have a high lip so you can use it for soup because face it, using that one pot above for soup, when you're old and alone, will create the eventual, 'I forgot to wash the pot' event that comes with senility, alzheimer's, or simply not caring anymore.

    2. Excellent! I had the same question. What are the pots and pans? Not a paella pan, Alice? That isn't practical on a boat? Hmm...these do seem like good choices. Thanks for the intel Alice; it is helpful.

    3. As a matter of fact there was a paella pan at the table and a few said that or a brasier would be their bonus pick. And btw, the 4 I listed above was the group consensus. For the boat, its dutch oven, carbon steel skillet (ovensafe and nonstick!), large sauce pan, small sauce pan
