House Battery Maintenance
Chris here. There are a lot of batteries on the boat. Some batteries are used to start the engines and generator. The others are "house" batteries, which supply the power to built-in lights, fresh water and sump pumps, the toilets and all the navigation electronics.
If you have wet cell batteries, you have to periodically open them up and replace lost fluid. You can only use distilled water, so there are no minerals which will degrade the cell.
While you have the cap off you can test the fluid to determine the quality of the battery.
