I've had a few furniture fails lately so hesitated for awhile before I broke down and asked Chris to give up his Sunday to drive me a couple hours away to bring back this crazy big armoire with gorgeous carved woodwork. I knew it would either be fabulous or a terrible mistake, but I was hopeful that it would solve our coat AND firewood storage problems. Chris was a good sport about the whole thing and actually so was Mike, Ian, and Celia because it took all of us to maneuver this thing into place. In the end, I am so pleased which might actually be the real trouble for the team because who knows what I will want to drag home next. Furniture success was sweet and good for my soul, but then my day only got better as Celia made a delicious dinner and topped it off with fresh madeleines. She's become quite the accomplished, curious cook. I have to admit I'm kinda proud of that too.
