Ch ch changes
Soon after Kevin and Jen moved to Boston which I think was in 2008, the 4 of us decided to go out for drinks at the new Legal Seafood that had a bar at the top of the restaurant that overlooked the water. We drove to what seemed the end of the world and parked in this parking lot pictured. We were not sure it was legal to park there or the car would be there when we returned. It felt so desolate. In contrast to the bleak landscape, the bar was full to the brim with what appeared to us as very flashy, young, wealthy people. Even though we were much younger then, we felt very much out of our element. Or maybe I should only speak for myself since this is my memory. Cut to 2021, I pass this parking lot every day as it is close to my office and I noticed recently that they are prepping it for construction. It won't be long before a tall building is standing here.
I remember it the same way, Alice--flashy, young, wealthy people. We had to get stamped by a bouncer to enter the bar. It was hot! The drinks were incredibly expensive. And we felt like everyone was side-eyeing us, like, "why are you here?"
ReplyDeleteSide-eyed? HAHA. Now they look straight through us as if we aren't there.
