Buggy
Chris arrived last night and I felt I could watch him physically shake his city self as he drank in the Maine goodness. I let Kevin know his vacation was over yesterday as I put him to work moving furniture (natch), repairing a curtain rod, investigating mice activity, and working the grill for our pizza dinner. Then we all settled in a for a good night of real estate and retirement talk. I usually avoid sitting outside this time of year because of the bugs and last night was no exception, but still it was a pleasure to be out there for as long as we could stand it. I have 3 days left here and lots to do to get the place ready for renters. But I am already looking forward to my September return.
There are over 3000 species of mosquitoes worldwide, and over 40 in Maine, about half of which feed on human blood. Mosquitoes are active at dusk and dawn, are most active at 80°F and do not function below 50°F.Only the female mosquitoes feed on blood; male mosquitoes feed on plant nectar and juices.
