Firsts
One of the things I love (and hate) about our boating life is that we are constantly being challenged to figure out something new. This weekend we headed to World's End, a mooring field near Nantasket, that everyone raves about because of its protected calm waters. In addition to navigating to a new place, we were going to raft up to another boat for the first time. This meant that instead of anchoring or hooking up to a mooring ball, we attached ourselves to another boat. And if this was not enough, after a couple hours it was determined that our 2some raft actually had to be a 3some raft. So our two boats tied together pulled up anchor and we floated down to the third boat. It was hard to get a picture of this operation, but let me just tell you it was a bit of a feat.
Here we are heading toward the target of the 3rd boat.
In this picture, Dave is in his dinghy nudging our boats in the right direction. Because the wrong direction was toward these boats—which for a short while was exactly where we were headed. We had had the hopeful "boaters" thinking that the wind would just take us to where we needed to be.
All I can say is no harm no foul. Just a glorious weekend was had by all.
