Richmond Sept '22 Edition

Chris and I took a quick weekend trip to visit Celia and Ian. It is never enough time for me, but I've become a big believer in the keeping it easy category of visiting so the kids don't dread your next one. We did pack a lot in to our 2.5 days. Above is from a pretty amazing dinner. Don't we look so grown up and official as visiting Parents?

This picture is a selection of non alcohol options that Ian offered me. I really thought it was sweet that he tried to find something special for me as well.

On Saturday, Celia and I hit the estate sales. We let our intern come along as well. He ended up being pretty useful—dropping us at the door and then finding parking, procuring cash etc. He even actually spotted a few good items for resale. I'd be willing to hire him after his internship ends. I really wanted this dancing bear firepit for Maine, but didn't think it would fit in our overhead.
When we went to Texas a few years ago, Ian took us to a rodeo which was a really memorable experience. This trip he took us to a Squirrels baseball game. You can't see that well in this picture, but Chris and I unintentionally wore matching Canadian Tuxes for the day. But naturally we reversed the light and dark top and bottoms.
The minor league really knows how to amp up the fun. Here's the running unicorn who was throwing some treat (I forget what) into the stands.
Love them!
I really love the architecture in Richmond. The picture above is the entry to our airbnb. Gorgeous terrazzo floor. And lots and lots of fun old signs.

  1. Not a unicorn!! He's FLINGO the flamingo who flings hot dogs into the stands.

  2. I was getting ready to complain to the editor that SlipD16 hadn't done a timely Richmond story--but seeing as how there are so many great photos, all is forgiven. Speaking of which, when I saw the first photo I was like, "Alice looks fantastic." Then the next picture is of the non-alcoholic beverages. Yes, it's all starting to make sense to me now.
