Did you bloom your paprika?

I love when I catch phrases of a conversation that taken out of context might make you giggle. Yesterday the amazing kitchen ops team had a little birthday celebration for Alexxa. Heather had whipped up an eggplant dip that had everyone raving. Heather gave the list of ingredients. Everyone nodded slowly and thoughtfully. Then Meri wanted to know if she had bloomed her paprika to which heather said,  Of course I did. Do you think I’m an animal? And I admit I secretly laughed. Who knew you bloomed paprika? Now you know why I will never really consider myself a real cook.
