The secret world of boating

Today was a day of many amazing firsts. We took our boat to Gloucester harbor and picked up a mooring. It all seemed overwhelming and terrifying but also very ordinary. There are 4 D dock boats here and a few more to come over the course of the weekend. Chris took me over to the beach for a swim in our dinghy and then everyone came to our boat to hang out for dinner and fireworks. Our friends are mostly sailboaters so our boat is kind of a palace.I’m trying to give detail to our day, but the magic is in what I’m not describing. Everything is simpler and prettier when you’re on a boat. But it’s also so much more complicated. I told Chris I feel like we’ve gone through CSLewis’s wardrobe and now we’re in another universe. I think you will just have to come with me to experience it.
