Haymarket
We've fallen into a Saturday routine of heading to Haymarket for our weekly fruit & vegetable shopping which is now just a stone's throw from our apartment. I've never been to Haymarket so consistently so it is kind of interesting to see what appears each week and how the prices rise and fall. Our apartment fridge is small--living on a boat small--so I have to be very mindful of only buying what I really think we will use quickly. Which is kind of hard when everything is so cheap and you just never know if you'll want that cauliflower. I didn't bother to slow down enough to find out what the things in this picture were, I just knew they would not fit into our fridge. Lately I've begun to complain again that my cross to bear in life is always having to deal with a tiny kitchen. I've even started looking at the larger layouts of apartments in this building. One step up and I would have had an island. But I guess I need to embrace the limitations because it's working for us. This is our lentil pasta, pesto, roasted eggplant and tomato lunch. I like the impressions the tomatoes left on the parchment paper. Beauty everywhere.
