Boat Anatomy

As part of this weekend's chores, I've started mapping the mechanical layout of the boat.  I've been thinking about replacing the old aluminum fresh water tank, so I wanted to take a look at it.  Of course, it turned into a clean-up project when I noticed more water in the bilge than it seems there should be.  I think it may confirm my theory that there is a small leak in the water tank.

Preparing to use the boat to actually go somewhere in the warm weather, I also started looking at the rudder controllers in the stern of the boat (see picture below).  While down there I noticed there is a fitting for a giant wrench which I can use to turn the rudder by hand if, God forbid, the steering system fails.  Cool!
This is the hatch in the galley near our fresh water tank.  The blue handle is a manual pump, which I'm using to move water out of the bilge into the bucket.  (It's sudsy because of some bilge soap I put in there.)
Here is the apparatus that actually turns the rudders behind each propeller. On the right hand side of the picture you can see the arm, attached to the linking pole, which turns the rudder.
