My Funny Valentine
I've been writing a lot about all the change and strangeness in our
lives from moving to a condo in Brookline to a boat in Charlestown. And
all that is true. But the other side of it is how easy it is to do
something this crazy when you have a partner in crime. This adventure
really plays to strengths in both of us. I enjoy figuring out the
minimalist life hacks and Chris embraces the social life. We are equally excited about living on the water and driving the boat in the future. My
life has become richer for all the conversations we've had with our new
friends. And it is also always ok with Chris when I'm not up for whatever.
There is nothing better than having someone to push you a bit out of
your comfort zone, but also allow you to just be who you are. Our life,
on the face of at least, seems a bit precarious to me, but I've never
felt safer and more loved. I so enjoy Chris's smile when he is off on a
goofy marina adventure. You can see what I mean from this picture of
Chris headed to the Friday Night Pool Party which I declined to
attend...but then eagerly awaited hearing all about.
Chris doesn't do Chris justice. From now on we should call him "Crazy Carpenter" :)
ReplyDeleteIts official, even though I've said it many times before: I hit the wonderful wife lottery with Alice. You make my heart sing darling. Love you!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the pool party was awesome. They have a heated tent over the pool, which they turn up so warm that inside its all just fog. What a wild little swim that is! Plus free pizza and beer. Foggy pool or not, it was a mostly family friendly experience, with kids running around and parents chasing them. Sort of had the feeling of pool party for the entire block, except they're all your eccentric cousins and uncles and aunts.
ReplyDeleteFantastic Valentine's story! Loved it.
