Carnival lights

This morning's Ted Talk podcast was about all the benefits you get from facing your fears and getting out of your comfort zone. It got me thinking about what fears I should conquer and of course there are plenty of those. But it also got me reflecting on our liveaboard boat life. I wanted to pat myself on the back and say See, you just did this amazing scary thing. But if I am actually honest with myself fear was never really an issue. All my emotions as the adventure unfolded have been around embarrassment and I guess shame (though that seems too strong a word). What's up with that? Are those emotions just another way of saying fear? As spring unfolds and the glory of being on the water becomes more obvious, those emotions seem far away now. But I have a feeling this is something that might be worth untangling.

Anyway, on less philosophical matters, this weekend we did a bunch of spring cleaning of our outside spaces. So much more still to do, but I got a little ahead of myself hanging these lights that I originally bought for our living room. They were too big for the salon and sadly I think they are way too bright for the aft deck. I think they may look great in Jennifer's back yard though.

    1. So I should hang some sheer cloth below the lights? Chris would love that!

  2. I'll never say no to lights! :) And wait until you all see what we're doing in our yard! A strange thing worked out between me and a craigslister...and we will have a patio. AND maybe even more! Will hold onto myself and not say the word because I'm afraid if I do, it really won't happen.

    1. Nothing I love more than a good craigslist story. I cant wait! And I've already ordered some new lights, so I'll be packing these up for you. Sorry Kevin!
