Walk with Me
The one constant happiness for me since our move is my walk to work. Even on a rainy day like this morning, I put on my rain coat, thanked Chris for his wisdom in getting me a home computer, and took off. In the beginning I thought about adding a weighted vest for more exercise, but Michael set me straight on that one. And for awhile I discovered the joy of bluetooth headphones and podcasts. But lately I am happy to walk to my own thoughts. The sunny mild weather this week has motivated me to walk fast. So I've been experimenting with my own version of a hiit workout. I walk quickly for the count of 100, slow down for 30 seconds, and then speed up again. It makes the trip fly even though my fast is not very fast.
I just did a mini-challenge: I had to do 10,000 steps a day for 10 days. I'll bet you're beating that easily.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I easily get 14,000 steps if I just walk to and from work. Not unusual to hit 20k some days. I had read somewhere that 80,000 steps = 2 lbs. Not sure if that is really true, but its a nice target.
DeleteThere is nothing like walking. It's perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that makes it better is when I get to walk and talk with you!
