addicted to change

Last night I had dinner with a friend that I used to work with a few years ago. We had a lot to catch up on. She recently got married, got a new job, sold her condo and was buying a new place. I was spitting jealous. I had to keep reminding myself that I've recently had a lot of change too—and there is even more new stuff ahead for us as we consider buying the house in Maine and learn how to drive our boat. Plus all this upheaval has been exhilarating but also exhausting, I don't need any more thank you very much. So why did it make my friend look so glowy and make me want what she had?
