Kitchen thoughts
This weekend I did a lot of cooking that got me thinking about my Alice’s Tiny Kitchen project. There are so many things to consider when cooking on a boat from refrigerator space to entertaining without a table—not to even mention the equipment limitations and my general sanity. This morning I had some beautiful strawberries from my CSA and decided to serve with a small dollop of unsweetened whipped cream in little glasses with a drizzle of the raspberry coulis I made on Friday. The noteworthy part for me was that I whipped the cream using my little milk frother wand in a flat second. It was a moment of perfection.
Anyhoo what this post is really supposed to be about is the contact paper project I did today. The ugly Formica counter was getting me down. I’ve been vacillating between calling a carpenter or painting or doing some crazy creative thing. But decided today to just try the contact paper that was already here. It’s not perfect and I expect I will want to do something else eventually but for today it is just right
Looks pretty nifty to me.
