Room with a view
I like to say the city lights never get old. Same for the water horizon sunsets. And the rolling lawn in Maine. We’ve definitely made up for our subterranean brookline life with wonderful views every where we look. And that’s made me really happy. Though I have to admit that once in awhile I still get struck by what strange choices we’ve made and that weird feeling of embarrassment sneaks in. What’s up with that?
There's a strong cultural pull to be/look like everyone else. Maybe it has something to do with a herd pack mentality? Although, Darwin would say that looking like everyone else just might be the thing that kills you, and that variation is evolution. I'd go with Darwin.
