The Inbetween

This is the patch of road between Michael and Cara's house and ours. It's well traveled as we go back and forth. I guess for most of history and most of the world it is not unusual to live so close to your family, but somehow to me it feels very innovative and very very special. We marvel at the ease in which we go in and out of each other's lives. Tonight I decided to make another dinner out of the cookbook that Celia gave me for Mother's Day. And since I was making dinner, I invited them over. It was easy and fun and over in a New York minute. Because this is Maine afterall, and the siren call of bedtime begins the moment the dinner plate hits the table.
