Arriving Home
Oh my we had such a nice Thanksgiving trip to Maine. So lovely to have Celia for a few days. And so wonderful to see Jessie and Kyle in their new home. And of course there is nothing better than spending time with Mike and Cara. The specialness of Maine has really grown on me over the last few years. I love the scrappiness of all the businesses, and I love the vistas at every turn.
Though actually the point of this post is to talk about returning home...when home is a boat. Our slip is a good few minutes walk down the docks. The marina provides these carts to haul your stuff—and you can see we ended up with quite a bit between the usual packing, shopping, and oh yeah we brought our laundry to the airbnb. My thoughts tonight were about the ease of returning home. I don't think I've ever had the "normal" life of pulling into a driveway and unloading into a garage. But for sure this boat experience is the most interesting challenge I've faced so far.
