I Spy Pie

Hey, did you know it's Thanksgiving? The Carpenter/Cummiskey family is retreating to an airbnb in Maine to visit with the Rottersman clan. Maybe some year I will attempt a Thanksgiving feast on the boat. But last night's kitchen gymnastics to produce 2 pies and dinner for me and Chris was challenge enough. The pie crust needed to be browned in the oven, the pumpkin needed to simmer before filling and baking, and the lentil soup needed microwave warming. In a normal kitchen all would happen at once, but in a boat kitchen it's just one step at a time. Kind of made me think this kind of cooking is sort of a mindfulness metaphor. They say we can't really multitask, so maybe slowing down and cooking this way has something to teach me.
