Door to door service last night from work in the Seaport to home at the Marina. You just call a number like any old taxi service and a boat comes and fetches you. Pretty cool. And admittedly a little spooky crossing the water at night. But oh so beautiful. I shared the taxi ride with a young man who commutes daily from East Boston into Boston via the water taxi. He introduced himself, made pleasant small talk, and told me that water taxi people get to know each other. I guess its really true that boat people are just friendlier people.
