Ladies of the street
Cara hosted the most lovely get together this morning with the ladies who live on Johnson Cove Road. I'd like to say Cara was doing it to welcome me to the neighborhood, but her real ulterior motive was to convince Carol (master gardener) to buy the house across from me. Carol did not seem too interested in the house, but I think we will all see more of each other. There was a little bit of girlish giddiness at the table. It is so fun hearing the stories of how people ended up living here.
In kitchen news, I've been having some fun cooking in a nice kitchen though it is oddly equipped. For instance, there's a lemon reamer but no cutting board. I will eventually get what I need, but in the meantime I used this old fashioned pastry cutter instead of a kitchen aid. And a paring knife to peel (and then mince) zest off an orange. It is always fun for me to see what I can figure out.
Loving the Maine posts!!!
