King Tide

This storm is living up to its billing.
Amazing.  Awesome high tide, they're calling it "King Tides".  Boat doing ok so far.  Some docks appear to be damaged but holding.  Many boats without power so they've evacuated much of the marina.  My boat still has power for the moment but not sure how long.

I've gone  to hotel now in case its harder to leave later. Hotel gave great  discount for marina people, many of whom are here. Alice and Celia coming in tomorrow from Dublin. What an experience!   The docks were actually  level with the parking lot, and and flooded with a foot of water.  The long-term liveaboards say they've never seen this before.

Real test will be deep freeze tomorrow. If I lose power I may have real trouble with frozen pipes.

Good news is that these events - 10 days of severe cold followed by a major flooding event followed by 3 more days of single digit temps - are extremely unlikely to be repeated again for 10 or 20 years.
