A rising tide makes it easier to carry groceries.
There's about a 13 foot difference between high tide and low tide in Boston Harbor. At Constitution Marina we have very nice floating docks. So boats and docks and everything on them go up and down together. The aluminum gangways which cross the water onto dry land are on a sort of hinge.
At 9:30 in the morning you've got a nice flat stroll from the docks to the gates. But at 4:00 in the afternoon you're climbing a huge hill. It really makes a difference when you're carting laundry or furniture in and out.
I guess low-tide is workout time!
