Santa was good to us this year. We woke to a nice coating of snow that muffled us in our cocoon. My favorite part of Christmas are the hours after the gifts have been opened and there is nothing more to do, and no where to go, and you can just sit. We had to figure out some new things—like standing up the tree in an overturned garbage can (conveniently already green) and only using a handful of ornaments. The tree could have used a strand of lights, but that's an improvement for next year. And cooking was a feat of electrical orchestration. But it all turned out lovely.
