Red Door

Last night the marina hosted their annual Christmas party at Beerworks. Once again we marveled at how good the marina is to their customers and also how many interesting people have boats there. I met:

• a woman whose family has operated the swan boats for the past 142 years (yes, same family!)
• an engineer whose most recent project was putting up a satellite for Lincoln Labs
• a couple from Sag Harbor who has a "weekend" boat at the marina so they can visit their new grandchild who lives in the North End. The husband of this couple builds 18,000 sq foot mansions in the hamptons. His wife is an artist

and so on. Nearly everyone mourned the season of the wrap because it is harder to get to know one of each other. But Chris and I ended each conversation with, our boat is the one with the red door, knock anytime
