Gratitude for Family
My whole life I've been blessed with help from family, and it's continued on board the boat. I'm notoriously the least handy handyman, which is a problem when faced with the complications of a huge floating machine.
Kiev helped me inspect the boat when buying it and helped set up and troubleshoot on and after the trip down to Boston. Max consulted his boat friends and Jim gave me advice on electronics and batteries. Jack and Terry got my bimini down in record time and have been helping me figure out the engines. Jackson moved our furniture onto the boat, and Jennifer helped Alice design and decorate the cabins. Celia has been moving junk out and clearing snow from the wrap.
Today I'd like to offer special thanks to Kevin, who is as skilled with tools as I am not. A while back he tied down the dinghy properly so it wouldn't blow off the boat. Yesterday, he spent his whole day helping me install sorely needed lighting and shelves. He also helped figure out the cable for internet if we get it.
And by "helping me install", I mean Kevin did everything while I got him coffee and held a flashlight sometimes. It would have taken me weeks to get done what he did in a day.
I can't thank you all enough, except by taking you all out on a beautiful summer cruise to Provincetown.
Nice still life (photo). Kevin can cook, build stuff, sing, play guitar. Chris, you and I may need to start a loser club ;) .... Kevin can build it for us!
