Help with the Lines

Here with Alice is Rick.  He's a talented and experienced marine mechanic and electrician, his second career after electrical engineering and designing computing systems. Rick works on many of the boats in the marina. If not for him, we'd have had a very rough time getting started.

Rick has done several re-wiring projects and also winterizing the engines. Our boat is great for liveaboard life,  but it was configured for summer-only living.  The 50 amp service we have was fine, but the boat wasn't wired properly to make use of it for heaters.  It also had a low-end inverter instead of a decent battery charger,  which became a road block to power distribution.  Rick helped me figure out what the best solutions were and implemented them very economically.

His rates are fair,  but he's already given me a lot more help than I've paid for in the form of good advice for a total novice. Like some of my neighbors (more later),  Rick has helped out tremendously adjusting to boat life.

One recent topic was managing the summer jelly fish / air conditioning problem.  The critters like to get clogged in you sea-in thru-hulls.  We'll discuss that in July!
